A growing collection of audiovisual pieces, demo sketches, and sonic experiments that offer a deeper look into my creative process.
I’m Lukáš Bulko, also known as Alapastel—a composer, sound artist, and performer.
Born in Trenčín, Slovakia, I've been deeply engaged with music since age fourteen (2000), viewing sound not merely as entertainment, but as a doorway to deeper experience. My creative journey revolves around technologies, deep listening, intuitive experimentation, and exploring music’s capacity to express what words cannot.
Working across ambient, neoclassical, and experimental forms, I weave together acoustic instruments, electronic textures, field recordings, and ceremonial soundscapes. Whether it’s a contemplative ambient sketch or an intricate rhythmic composition, each piece emerges slowly, intentionally, and always rooted in emotional truth.
My albums Hidden for the Eyes (2018, Slowcraft Records) and Ceremony (2021, Lost Tribe Sound) have gained international acclaim from platforms like Fluid Radio, Bandcamp Daily, Brainwashed, Headphone Commute, Ambientblog, XLR8R and much described as “music that leaves a soul-print” and “ceremonial ambient, as poetic as it is grounded.” The albums were featured in several best-of-the-year lists and the songs were aired on international radio stations, including BBC6. These works invite listeners into a profound state of presence and introspection.
I've performed across Europe—including Sicily, Prague, Vienna, and throughout Slovakia—both solo and with full-band ensembles, appearing at festivals like Sharpe, Waves Vienna, Spectaculare, Hviezdne Noci, ZVUK for..., and World Music Festival Bratislava. Additionally, I co-founded Dream Scenes Bratislava, immersive overnight concerts designed for deep rest, dreaming, and quiet presence, held in Slovakia, Sicily, Hungary and Gran Canaria.
Regularly, I facilitate Sound Journeys for meditation, movement, and healing, sharing these experiences in sacred spaces and creative retreats such as Ecstatica Festival, 4D Gallery Galanta, and House of the Sun in Crete.
I believe music is an intimate dialogue—authentic, deeply reflective, and crafted with meticulous care. My collaborations start with profound listening and mutual discovery. I create bespoke soundtracks for filmmakers, sonic environments for therapists and mindfulness facilitators, and unique sonic portraits capturing meaningful moments and places.
Recognized for emotional authenticity and transformative sonic textures, my compositions resonate deeply, guiding listeners toward introspection and clarity.
Collaborative synergy is essential to my process. My trusted creative circle includes Ján Kružliak Jr. (violin), Gabika Bezáková and Lukáš Medlen (electronics), and my wife Kristína / Kikon, who contributes vocals, acoustic instrumentation, and field recordings. This co-creative process is organic, transformative, and deeply enriching.
In a culture overwhelmed by overproduction and distraction, genuine music is an act of quiet rebellion—a sanctuary for attention, nuance, and the sacred. I share a longing with artists, thinkers, and listeners seeking authentic experiences amidst the noise.
I built this website in the same spirit I approach my music—with patience, presence, and a deep respect for the creative process. Everything here is coded from scratch, months of work in HTML, without templates or presets. Coding was taught with the help of LLMs. It’s a simple, handmade space that reflects the values behind my sound work: clarity, depth, communication with technologies and a sense of emotional resonance. Just as I shape each composition slowly and intuitively, I wanted this site to unfold in a quiet, honest way. Feel free to explore it.
I create music for those who seek deeper resonance.

Real words from collaborators whose visions came to life through sound.
“My two collaborations with Alapastel have always been deeply enriching... His music has been acclaimed in conferences and interviews. I would also like to highlight his remarkable humility despite the excellence of his work, which he always delivers on time.”
“I ordered some soundtracks from Lukas with the idea to use them as a background for my violin improvisations. His self composed electronic music is fantastic, deep, colourful and atmospheric. I love the combination of my acoustic instruments (violin, flute, gongs and also drum) and his world of electronic music. It opens new gates of "crossovers" with inspiring sound scapes. I highly recommend it to use his music in a creative way in ambient concerts and sound journeys. ”
"Lukáš's music was a perfect match. It has power and depth, reinforces the emotions, and supports the desired atmosphere. I used different tracks, but they stick together because of the same spirit that radiates from them. The documentary has benefited greatly. I am happy for this collaboration!"
“Richly orchestrated and featuring sumptuous vocal performances... its stirring instrumentation is almost undetectably morphed via electroacoustic production.”
“Bulko's material exemplifies an undeniably remarkable level of craft... To call Hidden for the Eyes assured hardly does it justice.”
“These sounds take the listener on a faraway trip... where electronic-ambient music can kiss the orchestral... Hidden for the Eyes leaves behind a soulprint.”
“Bulko's unusual compositional approach and eclectic choice of instruments elevate this album into something considerably more compelling than most neo-classical albums... an excellent album for deep listening.”
“Organic pieces, placing neoclassical in a more tribal and ceremonial context... Exceptionally beautiful!”
“For the advocate of hybrid instrumentation or the fan of ambient-tinged music that demands to be anywhere but the background, we whole-heartedly recommend a deep listening of Ceremony.”
Let’s bring your vision to life through sound.

Each release explores unique sonic territories, blending ambient soundscapes, electronic textures, electro-accoustic and neoclassical instrumentation to create compelling musical experiences.
Ceremony was born from intention—to offer music as a healing ritual. It was inspired by indigenous ceremonies, animist wisdom, and the vision of a future where humans live in harmony with each other and the Earth. The process of creating it was itself a ceremony: building compositions from the ground up, honoring the textures of tribal sound, and weaving them with electronics, strings, and silence.
Short films combining my original music with moments from the world—personal, poetic, or spontaneous. These stories are fragments of lived experience, shaped into sonic vignettes.

Pieces with more traditional song structure
Rhythm-focused compositions...
A selection of works where I explore collaboration with generative tools. These pieces demonstrate my ability to shape emotion and intention through careful post-production and prompt-based design—sampling generated music that transcends what AI alone can offer.
Even when the starting point is algorithmic, the outcome is always human: emotionally attuned, sonically refined, and intentionally crafted.
The first three tracks, using samples from Suno v3 and v3.5 generators, represent more traditional songwriting pushed into a deeply atmospheric and melancholic expression.
This screenshot shows the detailed sampling of AI generators, which, through consistent work, form a complex composition. All layers of the composition were generated by AI.
The fourth sample, Kovové Duše, explores the experimental capabilities of Google's Tone Transfer tool through glitchy tubular sounds. In this sample, I discovered a sound expression that I had never heard before AI and find it very fascinating.
